Interesting Helsinki Information

Known as the "Daughter of the Baltic," Helsinki has managed to retain its "small town" feel at the same time achieve a status of being an international metropolis. As it is, going around Helsinki is like browsing a museum of interesting architecture, but with the fast life that any big city would have.

Though most tourists come into Helsinki by plane, there are also other options guests may have. Land travel is certainly available via car, bus, and train, but boats are also available as well. If tourists are visiting aboard a ferry, one of the interesting sights would be Suomelinna, the "Gibraltar of the North," which used to be the greatest sea fortress that was established in the Baltic. Driving around Helsinki also offers many sights such as the Esplanadi Park, Sinebrychoffin puisto, and the unique Church in the Rock. This said church was dug out of a solid rock with a ceiling that is set to resemble a UFO that has crashed.

There is simply too many things in Helsinki that can be enjoyed in a single visit. Though getting around the city is not a challenge, it would be an easier and lovelier feat to enjoy when riding bicycles to and fro.
